V & M's Wedding

Last weekend was P.'s cousin's wedding. Though the weather didn't exactly cooperate, it was still a warm and meaningful ceremony at their mom's apartment. I know she wanted to make this memorable event small but heartfelt. And it was indeed. I'm not sure if I'm even suppose to blog about this event since it seemed like there was an unsaid consensus not to post any photos on Facecrack...but I just couldn't past the opportunity to remember a wedding! Below is I. and I feeling excited for the couple.

P. actually had to work that day but managed to get the morning and early afternoon off, so he was just excited as me! I didn't ask him but during their ceremony, memories of our own last August flooded back into mind. When the vows were said, I was honestly almost teary-eyed. I don't know if there will ever be a vow moment when I won't be touched in some way. Those words of commitment seem so powerful and special.
And, of course, how can there be a wedding without food! We filled our tummies to the brim and were all happy as can be!

Victoria

This past Easter long weekend, P and I headed to Victoria with my dad to visit his dad. Though it was cold and windy...plus I was sick the whole time, it did not rain and we had fun. P's dad and wife were great hosts and spent time driving us around for sightseeing as well as prepared lots of great food for us. Most of the fun we had was due to their hospitality.
I recall going to Victoria many years ago both with my high school as well as with family. However, I don't remember ever driving around town for scenic views nor going to Mile 0, their wharf as well as one of the most well known narrow streets/alleys of North America.
At the wharf, I especially liked this boathouse amongst the many floating homes. I wonder if people ever get seasick living in these homes? Over the years, does the salt from water not eat away at the materials of the house? Whatever the case, they're certainly cute.
We didn't get a chance to try out their famous fish and chips at the wharf. We hear that they're so good, Americans take their ferries to Victoria to eat them?!? Maybe next time.
Before we left, of course we had to visit the well-know narrow alley in Chinatown. It was wider than what I had expected but I was able to touch both sides of the wall with one hand and one leg at the same time. All-in-all, it was a pleasant trip but Victoria definitely seems to us that it's a very quiet, retirement town...2 days of visiting was definitely sufficient.
